According to studies, 92% of New Years resolutions/goals fail. In Andy Helm's experience, he thinks that number is too low. Thankfully, he has learned some techniques to drastically increase success. During this short session Andy will share tips on how to be part of the 8% that achieve their goals. Learn how to stack the odds in your favor.
I began working with Andy Helm as my practice coach in 2012. One of our first meetings was a goal setting exercise and we set these goals:
1. More personal time
2. Build infrastructure
3. Hire the right people
I just returned from a month-long vacation to New Zealand. On my return, I had no disasters to address. It was like the office staff didn’t mind that I’d been gone! That’s proof of more personal time, infrastructure, and hiring the right employees in the right positions. Andy and I also explored goals for longer terms: my five year goal was to maintain revenues (I grew them 6X); my ten year goal was to have a plan for transition (succession plan in place 2018). Andy helps me break down goals into attainable bite-sized tasks, then I implement. It takes a lot of self-discipline and devotion to the practice. Sometimes it involves risk, tough decisions, taking criticism, or reframing my perspective. I have to be open minded. Andy remains a central component of my success; I would not be where I am today without his expertise and guidance. So, don’t miss out on this opportunity to workshop with Andy. The New Year is a great time to envision change by goal setting. It will be well worth your time! - Amelia Crotwell, Elder Law of East Tennessee
Come prepared by identifying only one personal goal and one work-related goal. (That’s the first tip – Focus!!!)
